The Oncidium genus has a diverse assortment of orchids. Baslee Savah has beautiful white and maroon designs on larger flowers.

Oncidiums attracts bees for pollination. This is usually by an 'antagonistic' method. As some of the oncidiums resemble 'enemy insects', which attracts the male bees in defence. Oncidiums are also known as 'bee orchids'

Oncidium is a sympodial orchid. They could grow in any direction when potted in a media. The plant growth sometimes resembles finger like growths with spikes on each of them.
